Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalOn the surface, everything might seem fine but as one goes deeper, that is when the problems begin to emerge, same was the case with Manali.
Manali suffers from a psychological disorder and marijuana use seems to be her only way of getting through the day. Her boyfriend, Himadri, however, feels that marijuana is a crutch that Manali holds on to and suggests she visit a doctor. The doctor reveals the critical state that Manali is in and then the diagnosis begins. Meanwhile, the marijuana addict, Manali, recovers mysteriously from a psychological disorder, which the doctor and the rest thought to be impossible. However, the mystery appears sphinx-like. The knots however are untangled when The Diary of the Stoner is stolen and published.
Chirasree Bandyopadhyay
Chirasree Bandyopadhyay is a rising star in contemporary Indian literature. It has always been her passion to write and her dream to be an author ever since childhood. The Diary of a Stoner is her first attempt at fulfilling that dream. The novel is somewhat unique and can rather be regarded as a journal, which breaks the stereotypical format of the journal we have known. The author has attempted to promote marijuana and break all the myths that surround it in her first novel. Chirasree was born and raised in Kolkata. She has been raised in a culturally rich background, being the great granddaughter of Rai Bahadur Trailakhyanath Bandyopadhyay. She is pursuing a degree from VIT University, Vellore and is a former student of Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Chirasree has also worked as an academic content writer until she quit the job when she realized she wouldn’t be able to write about what she desires to. She draws her inspiration to write from her English teacher, Late Indrashis Lahiri.
