The Gravity of Gratitude Yogic-Neuroscience Understanding of Gratitude

Author Name: Chandra Shekhar Mayanil | Format: Paperback | Genre : Self-Help | Other Details

This book deals with the ‘gravity of gratitude’ that transcends ‘being thankful’ and ‘being grateful.’ How a simple ‘Thank You’ rewires our brain and positions us for greater achievements by allowing us to be the receiver of good luck, good relationships, wealth, and prosperity is beautifully described in this book through an innovative yogic neuroscience approach. People have inherent greatness in them, but if subjective ‘yogic science’ and objective ‘neuro science’ is used to explain the gravity of gratitude in ordinary language, as done in this book, they can unlock their own infinite potential without any help from others. This book is written in a conversational style allowing the reader to identify readily with the author.

Chandra Shekhar Mayanil

Chandra Shekhar Mayanil, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist by profession. He was the former director of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Research Program, and Eleanor Clarke Research Scholar in Developmental Neurobiology at Ann &  Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, USA for over 15 years during which he has published more than 50 stellar and citation classic research papers on early nervous system development and pediatric brain tumors in top-notch peer-reviewed scientific journals.

He has been practicing yogasanas for more than 50 years and more lately dhyan or deep meditation techniques for 25 years. His current passion is to scientifically decode the yogic literature in modern neuroscience language. Yogic neuroscience is a new scientific field, which Dr. Mayanil is spearheading with fresh logical interpretation and explanation of yogasanas and yogic techniques in the light of modern neuroscience, thus making both yogasanas and yoga more appreciable to the logical mind and neuroscience more palatable to the people who do not have that scientific background.
