‘The Great Indian Road Traffic----Chaos to Equilibrium’ is the culmination of the author’s observation of the road traffic in several parts of India for two decades. It contains about 122 pages on various aspects of road traffic, including safety on roads and saving fuel. The author attributes all traffic snarls, including accidents, to a singular lack of common sense and self-discipline among most road users, not narrow roads, insufficient number of flyovers, exponential growth in motor vehicle population and so on. The author has listed ten ways how people waste fuel and twenty six ways how it can be conserved. He has also suggested down-to-earth and budget-friendly solutions to decongest roads, prevent accidents and avoid pollution.
