The Idea of Hindi and Other Essays

Author Name: Raman Sinha | Format: Hardcover | Genre : History & Politics | Other Details

The essays in this collection span a period of fifteen years, from 2008 to 2023, and were originally presented at various national and international academic seminars. While these essays do not revolve around a single theme, they share a unifying thread: the singular perspective from which they originate. From ancient texts to modern Hindi literature, this collection offers a sweeping, vivid, and engaging literary panorama.

Seminar papers often serve as focused explorations—like arrows aimed at specific goals, leaving little room for deviation or broader exploration. Presented here in their original form, these essays aim to inspire a reexamination of established beliefs. Modest though they may be, they seek to illuminate both the familiar and the overlooked corners of the literary landscape.
