The author has projected the social and political life of the people that prevailed in Nigeria from 1800s to 1990s.The author has visualized how the imperialists entered the land of Umuofia and established their government and the many changes that happened in the society of Umuofia through the five novels of Chinua Achebe namely, Things Fall Apart, No Longer at Ease, Arrow of God, Man of the People and Anthills of the Savannah. Social and political life took a wide turn in the life of the natives. The first three novels show the way the imperialists established their rule and how the natives reacted to it. The last two novels reveal the methods adopted by the elderly African rulers and the educated African youth. Chinua Achebe finally concludes the fifth novel by entrusting the nation in to the hands of educated women who were willing to change the corruption and make the people experience real freedom.
