Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan
A chance exploration into the complexities of teaching a child with autism propelled Dr. Gayatri Narasimhan, a software engineer and management graduate, into a transformative journey to pursue Doctorate in Special Education and a Post-Graduation in Psychology, and a host of specialized training in various therapeutic techniques. Presently, Dr. Gayatri serves as a committed Special Educator, Inclusive Education Specialist, Vocational Trainer, and Counsellor, with over a decade and half of invaluable experience.
Recognising the need to widen her reach, Dr. Gayatri founded the Prakramika Vocational Institute (PVI) in Chennai, India, in 2015, to offer high quality learning experience, at free of cost, to children with special needs.
Serving as the main faculty at PVI, she empowers hundreds of neurodiverse individuals, every year, to create job opportunities for them in diverse industries. Besides, she has conducted free comprehensive vocational training, including the formulation of strategies for establishing ‘Vocational Centres,’ in Indian cities and in Oman for the stakeholders of special education.
Within a short span of 3 years, the courses of PVI, have grown in breadth and width with more learning modules and from short-term to long-term.
Dr. Gayatri's literary debut, "INVAS," advocates for an integrated curriculum for neurodivergent students, which received Golden Book award. Her accolades include the AKS Global Best Principal Award and the Oman Women Leadership Award.
