Dr. B. Manickavasagam is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Annamalai University, India. He has 19 years of teaching experience in both UG and PG levels. He has specialized in Environmental Sociology and Medical Sociology. The author has published more than 70 research papers in both national and international journals and also published a book on Medical Sociology. He has presented more than 80 papers in both national and international conferences. He has successfully guided 2 PhDs and is currently supervising 6 PhD researchers. He also successfully supervised 26 M.Phil researchers. He visited Malaysia and presented a research paper in the International Environment and Health Conference 2012, organised by the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has organized 4 national level seminars and one national level workshop. He serves as an expert member for various academic bodies of several sister universities in Tamil Nadu and is also a lifetime member of Indian Sociological Society (ISS), New Delhi.
