Art For Awareness
ARTIST PRIYA YABALURI
Art is my passion.
Being an artist for more than 25 yrs. and choosing it as a profession in spite of my varied background, I could find back the space within me which I had hidden for some time since my childhood to explore and create. The great thing about being an artist is that you are your own resident expert on your work, you know and study more about your technique, background, or subject matter and your perspectives over the period of time. This makes it possible to experience the ideas and thoughts of social‐political relevance and visions of the future of art. It gives me a fascinating insight into my own thinking, my vision and then its practice. I love to experiment with the space and the simple objects and subjects often adapted from the nature. The result being or becoming inspired and creative like some of the most important artists of our time in the form of poetry, writing, and works of art.
Perhaps my background in science (BSC)DAV college and later Interior designing (PGDID)JNAFAU from Hyderabad makes me think on the whole and different perspective. It adds up to my experience, the logic and the illusion to become my painting. Nature being the primary resource to my creativity. Initially as a child I would sketch and paint everything I felt was beautiful. I was always drawn towards fine arts. I also love to write poetry and compose music. In the last 20 years I have participated in over 40 group and solo Art shows in
India and Abroad. I have exhibited in UK, Germany, Petersburg,
Moscow, France, London, Paris, Dubai abroad and Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Pune in India. I still need to explore more geographically and learn more about art and culture globally. Art is evergreen. Art sets you free.
My latest works of art include a series “Preserve the Ocean “I have painted using acrylic medium on canvas. I want to create an awareness of preserving the ocean. How much the marine life is important to sustain life on earth. My Other works are from series “The cosmos “which are a series of abstracts using mixed media on canvas and paper.
My vision is to see art inspiring, creating awareness and explaining the world that the artist is one of the creators and their creativity is reflection of the beauty and facts that coexist with us and within us. An Artist has the ability to create and promote the harmony beyond cultural or social differences.
