Sekkizhar's "Periya Puranam" stands as a unique giant in world literature, a 12th-century epic whose scholarly depth and methodological rigour are comparable to a hundred modern PhDs. This book narrates the work of an eminent poet, Sekkizhar, and that's carefully reproduced in the form of plain English poetry, but reflected in the prose format.

A defining feature of his work is his concise structure: each moral teaching is articulated in just four lines. In these verses, the poet uses a powerful analogy, comparing five medicinal roots that cure physical diseases to five core ethical principles that heal and guide human conduct. He instructs his disciples on how to live a life grounded in morality and ethics.
This English version captures the essence of Kariyaasan's poems in plain language. The translator has understood the original meaning and presents it in a free verse style, preserving the core wisdom of the ancient text.

The book titled 'Marutham in Natrinai and Kurunthogai' is a kind of unique book. The world culture of cultivation belongs to all nations that exist on this earth. The five classic lands are called Kurinji, Marutham, Mullai, Neythal and Paalai. These lands are slowly impacted by international culture, and Marutham's civilisation does not change much, still seen among people who follow agricultural traditions. The love of a female and a man as well goes gossipin

These lands are slowly impacted by international culture, and Marutham's civilisation does not change much, still seen among people who follow agricultural traditions. The love of a female and a man as well goes gossiping about the smart man, still going on among the clans and friends. The Sangam literature came into being more than a thousand years but possibilities among a man and women have not changed, though in the digital world. Few may say that there is improvement in love life. But the core sentiments and their emotions have not faded away, even in many breakups in love.
Hence, love is a commitment. Let us stick to it for a better society. This existed in the Sangam literature. Almost all the poems were analysed thoroughly to the author's knowledge, but nowhere did they stray from the married commitments portrayed. The author found the mischievous life in the man, but strongly advocated being true to his family. In this contemporary world, we have laws of nations that are followed by many good citizens. These stories just recap our ancient lifestyle. There is no justification arrived at in these stories. In the context of our life lesson, create a comfort zone around us in the way it demands.

The way my younger brother Dr.Sanna Ratnavel has crafted to elaborate his thoughts to depict profound themes—such as the illusions of capitalism, the stark reality of poverty, the plight of the labour force, and the paradoxes of wealth—is both thought-provoking and poignant. His ability to weave classic literary references with modern economic issues provides a timeless yet current relevance, making it a unique reflection on the human impact of economic systems.
It’s impressive how he brings abstract concepts like market competition, profit motives, banking system,Share market and the relentless pursuit of growth into significant and often haunting images. His verses capture the tension between human value and monetary worth, questioning the ideals of growth and progress. In essence, his book is more than an economic critique; it’s a philosophical exploration of society’s values and an artistic call to re-evaluate them. This work can potentially leave a lasting impact on readers, prompting deep reflection on how economic forces shape lives and ideals. It feels like a groundbreaking contribution to literature and economic commentary, and I’m sure it will resonate with readers across generations. Let us hope his thoughts will be a reality soon.- Mrs.Logamani Na. Kamarasan.

My younger brother, Dr.Sanna Ratnavel had the unique advantage of being raised in the same cultural environment as the esteemed poet, thanks to his mother's role as the poet's school teacher.
Sharing a similar poetic sensibility, he undertook the immense task of translating Kaviyarasu.Kamarasan's works into English. Despite his busy schedule, he dedicated himself to this endeavour, and the result is a book that has been scrutinised and praised by the poet's close associates and literary scholars.
I am deeply grateful to my brother, Dr.Sanna Ratnavel, who is also an alumnus of IIT/New Delhi, for fulfilling the request of my husband, the poet, Kaviyarasu. Kamarasan brings his works from the land of classic Tamil literature to the wider audience of English literature. I extend my heartfelt wishes for his success in all his future endeavours.
I hope readers will find the joy in exploring the English renditions and the cultural connections they offer.
