ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਸੁਧਰਨ ਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਖੇਤਰ ’ਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਸ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਫ਼ੁੱਲਤ ਤੇ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਵਾਰ–ਵਾਰ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਚਿਰੋਕਣੇ ਟੀਚਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੁੱਜਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ‘ਬੋਰਿਸ – ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਜਿਊਂਦਾ ਕਾਹਨ’ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਖਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਾਵਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸਾਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਟੀਚਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ – ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹੱਥ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਗਲਪ–ਆਧਾਰਤ ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਬੋਰਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਬਿਆਨਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਖ਼ਾਨਾ– ਬਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਦਰਅਸਲ ਉਹ ਕਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਨਸਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਯੂਰਾ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਹੇਠਲੀ ਸਤ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਏਕਾਰਦਸ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਬੋਰਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਏਕਾਰਦਸ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਨਿਭਾਉਣੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕ੍ਰੇਟੋ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਲੀਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਫ਼ਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ’ਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਣਕਿਆਸੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਤ ’ਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ‘ਨਿਰਪੱਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਬਰਛਾ’ ਆ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਅਦ ’ਚ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਵਲ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿ ਹੋਵੇਗਾl
