Sajini Varadharajan
Sajini Varadharajan, a grade 10 student at GEMS United Indian School, Abu Dhabi, is a distinguished young author and environmental advocate. Along with receiving prestigious awards such as the Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Excellence 2024–25 and the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence (30th Cycle, Distinguished Student Category), Sajini has made impactful contributions toward environmental awareness and sustainability.
Her acclaimed novels, Pearl’s Adventures: The Arctic Homecoming and Glacial Reunion, named 'Novel of the Year' in 2023 and 2024 by Stories by Children, creatively integrate themes of climate change, wildlife conservation, and ecological balance, inspiring readers to value and protect the natural world.
Sajini has actively participated in various environmental initiatives, including various sustainable activities in EEG, which helped reduce plastic waste and promote recycling awareness. She has been involved in large-scale tree planting campaigns, planting over 10 trees in local green spaces to combat urban pollution and support biodiversity.
Through her internship with Clevered, India, Sajini contributed to projects focused on sustainable water management and renewable energy solutions. She also participated in educational workshops and makes digital content promoting eco-friendly practices for young students, encouraging a culture of environmental responsibility.
Her achievements in environmental advocacy complement her literary recognition by India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, Arabian World Records, Camel International Award, and World Book of Records for authoring the maximum number of books as a child. Featured in Gulf News, SAMAA TV, Tamil America Channel, and other prominent media, Sajini continues to inspire a global audience with her message of harmony between humanity and nature.
