Evika Bhasin
Evika Bhasin is an 11-year-old girl studying in Grade 6. She is a voracious reader, and it’s very normal to see a book in her hand always. She loves penning her thoughts, be it her adventures, vacations, or sometimes just a normal day. Her favourite authors include Sudha Murthy, Enid Blyton, and Roald Dahl, to name a few. She has an interest in theatre, art, dance and writing stories and poems, and embroidery as well. She has received awards in dance and has also stood first in a national-level examination in this field.
She enjoys writing adventure stories and poems, too. Another talent that is not known to people around her is the art of voice modulation.
The inspiration behind this adventure book, A Stroke of Luck, came from a real-life incident involving herself and her watch. One day, her watch just disappeared from where she normally used to keep it. A few hours later it was declared “lost”. And her sibling found “IT” a year after the incident in the most unexpected place—her own drawer. The interesting part is that the drawer had been used all those days. A sudden discovery in the most unexpected place, as one might term it, gave an idea to the story which you will read now.
