Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalAn Ode, Elegy, and a Ballad is a collection cover a wide range of topics, from love and life to the natural world. When we are head over heels in love, we lose all objectivity and give ourselves entirely to the other person. We fell in love based on our own preconceived notions and ideals, and we sought to mold others to suit our own preferences. rather than asking why we can’t accept people as they are.
It’s up to us to make our lives better, and in doing so, we’ll undoubtedly add color to the lives of those around us. All these love poems are about the fallout from having unrealistic expectations and the ways in which one’s life evolves as a result. In its pristine state, nature is stunning, but human activity has disrupted the balance of the natural world. Poems about nature range from euphoric descriptions of its wonders to laments over its destruction at the hands of humans.
The lessons we pick up at different points in our lives shape who we become. This is when we arrive at the epiphany that was and is our lives. Oftentimes, the wisdom and experience reflected in a book’s quotations can only be gained through direct experience.
