Dr Pradip Neog is an acclaimed author and researcher of Assamese folk culture. His Assamese books and articles on Bihu culture have not only broaden comprehension of readers on all different aspects of the Bihu festivals but also persuaded and guided towards preservation and promotion of the rich heritages of Assamese culture. He has so far published 5 books, 3 musical dramas, more than 150 articles and research papers, and also directed 5 audio cassettes of Bihu songs. 

The author has been rendering his expertise on Bihu-culture as a resource person, panelist and advisor in various forums for more than four decades. The International Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage’ (ICICH) uploaded one of his articles in its website as a part of the effort of attaining recognition of Bihu as an intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. The ‘Bihu Surashya Sommitty, Assam’ referred two of his widely read books in the guidelines of Bihu-competitions. At present Dr Neog is working as Director of Extension Education Institute (NE Region), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India.
