Born in a village in Kerala, in 1946, Anandavalli Chandran got educated there. When she moved to city, she took up a permanent career in teaching. She devoted more time for writing after retirement. Anandavalli Chandran is a bilingual writer as she writes poems, stories, articles and travelogues in English and Malayalam. She writes in English under the penname medhini. She has great passion for reading and writing. She also loves music both vocal and instruments. She watches television and likes to travel and explore. medhini's English poem is published in an Anthology. Still another Anthology with poems is in processing. Her two Malayalam Poetry books and a Malayalam story book have been published. She has also published some poems in collective groups. She lives in Navi Mumbai.
