Yaqoob Yawar
A recipient of various honors, Prof. Yaqoob Yawar is well known in Urdu literature and is a distinguished writer whose creation-stream is flowing continuously in poetry, critics’ research, and editing of the Urdu, Hindi and Bangla playwright Agha Hashr Kashmiri in eight huge volumes. He has translated into English from Urdu almost fifteen novels and eight other books. In addition to this, he contributed to more than fifty articles in various prestigious research journals. He has also contributed a lot to the field of fiction.
Yaqoob Yawar, who holds the equal command in Hindi and Urdu, has also presented a Hindi translation of his novels Jihad and Dilmun for Hindi readers. Yaqoob Yawar is currently working as the Head of the Urdu Department, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
