Norvy Paul

Norvy Paul completed his Master’s from the University of Pune and joined De Paul School of Social Work as an academician in 2004. His current research work is focused on displacement in India with a particular interest in social and cultural capital, marginalisation, human rights and community development. He has authored and edited five books on development -induced displacement, published several articles in various national and international journals, and presented papers at various forums related to social work and displacement. He was Guest Editor of ‘Artha’ Journal published from CHRIST University, Bangalore, and on the editorial board of journals like Journal of Internal Displacement, International Journal of Social and Development Concerns, De Paul Journal of Scientific Research. Dr Paul completed Post-Doctoral Studies in Social Work in the year 2019 at Christ University in Bangalore, conducting research on development -induced displacement and marginalisation in Kerala. His major books are Development, Displacement and Social Disarticulation (2013); Development, Displacement and Marginalisation (2014); Development, Displacement and Capitals (2016), Social Work and Health: Inclusive of Practice, Research and Education (2016); Marginalised Displacees (2020). Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi.
