Doctors and Consumer Protection: Law, Justice and Reality takes a comprehensive overview of the development of consumerism in India and at international level. It contains an overview of medical negligence cases and the principles of law laid down by consumer courts and judiciary in India. This book is the outcome of the author’s well-researched dissertation of his doctoral thesis titled, “A Study of Efficacy of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in Relation to Private Medical Service in Pune.” It also covers analysis of consumer cases and overall efficacy of Consumers’ Disputes Redressal Agencies.

Dr. Prakash Chaudhary is the Vice Principal, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Business Laws in Ness Wadia College of Commerce, Pune with a total professional experience of 28 years in legal practice and teaching of Law, Commerce and Management. He is the Rank holder in his LL.B., LL.M. and M.A. (History) Examinations. Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, Labour Law and Administrative Law are his areas of specialisation and Research. He has worked as Director/administrator on Various Education societies including Modern Education Society, Pune for more than a decade.
