The next day, they visited the Cellular Jail, where the British imprisoned many freedom fighters during the colonial era. They watched the light and sound show that narrated the stories of the courage and sacrifice of the inmates. the voice of the late actor Om Puri was very proper in narrating the gory tales of the Freedom Struggle of the sub-continent. The tales of the Cellular Jail (called the “Kala Pani”), where the Freedom Fighters were kept and the atrocities suffered by the prisoners under the British, Japanese, and Chinese Regimes were highlighted with every detail of the inhuman treatment meted out by the oppressors.

The meetings of the protagonist with his lady love were highlighted during the travels in the Andamans, although for a brief time, the two had to be separated by the geographical barrier. The plot shifted to different settings and a lot of upheavals happened with the protagonist. An international smuggling connection was under investigation by the protagonist cop in the Islands, while his beloved went back to her native place to continue with the lecturer’s job at the premiere University there.

The story linked to what happened then in present-day mainland India in the time of difficult political turmoil that swept the Indian state of West Bengal and the cop had to visit the neighboring Bangladesh in connection with the investigation. In the end, it was how the protagonist faced the new realities in his life he faced was the theme of the story.

BIKASH PAUL CHOUDHURY (Pen Name - YUDHAJIT)

Bikash Paul Choudhury, alias Yudhajit retired as the Chief Engineer, PHE Department of Meghalaya in 2017. After doing a B.E. (Civil) from the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, he completed the Master of Engineering in Public Health from the All-India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata. After a brief stint with the public sector in Mumbai, Bikash decided to serve his state, where he spent his entire service life for the next 37 years. His personal experiences during these long service years varied from fulfilling to traumatic, from the happy-go-lucky to the extreme despondency, and the vicissitudes of life he has richly lived – with all its hope and joy, all its pain and suffering, all its exuberance and disappointment, needed to write books. His life is as it is overwhelming, always real. The experiences he narrated in his books span his service life experiences and other areas of life. Though a late starter in writing, Bikash is also a budding poet and has a passion for pencil sketching.

He wrote the first part of the series ‘Sachin Tendulkar Story’ titled, “Thank You, Sachin” in July 2023, and the second part of the memoir series, ‘Sachin Tendulkar Story,’ titled “Game Salutes You” was self-published. He had authored the third part of his memoir series, ‘Sachin Tendulkar Story’, namely, “Master Blaster Effect.”

His first three fiction in a series, ‘Lucy’s Trilogy’, namely “Ecstasy on the Mountain”, “Over a Long Night”, and “Seashore at Twilight”, were all self-published on Amazon platforms.

His fourth and fifth books were” The Unending Trail” (his autobiographical fiction) and “Powerful” (the only non-fiction). Three of his five books were best-sellers and number one on Amazon. in.

Recently, he completed self-publishing his second fiction series, ‘Binayak’s Life Saga’ which has three parts, namely, “The Unconventional Love Saga”, “The Return”, and “The Unexpected Meeting”.

Bikash wrote a series on Ghost Stories, namely “Ghosts Rule the Spooky Hill”, and “Paranormal Stories Book.” This month, he wrote his second non-fiction titled, “TED Talk’s Influence.”

This is his fifteenth book written in about three years.
