Raj K Sreenivasan had his early education at the Hyderabad Public school, Hyderabad, and university education, first one year at BITS (Birla Institute of Technology & Science), Pilani and then four years leading to a BE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Regional Engineering College, Tiruchi (RECT). He studied in the MBA program at University of Nevada, Reno, US and completed 18 units. He worked as a swimming instructor/lifeguard at the YMCA, Santa Ana, California after acquiring American Red Cross Certification in Advanced Life Saving and Water Safety. He is also a holder of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) certificate as an International Open Water Diver. He has a number of dives in the Pacific ocean, Arabian sea and Indian ocean to his credit. He worked for ten years as an electronics engineer and for 24 years as a journalist for a leading publishing house of India
