Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalManish has looked forward to living in a hostel ever since he was a child. Finally, his dream has come true. As Manish sets foot in the room that will shape his next four years, his heart sinks. How will he cope with the smell of urine, mess food and, of course, first love?
Join Manish, Thomas and Swami in their adventures of exams, politics, elections, potatoes, bathroom fights, heartbreaks, shaayari and more. Hostelitis is a coming-of-age story of Manish and his friends. It is also the story of every engineering college hostelite from the nineties and, perhaps, even today!
Srinivasa Addepalli
For eight years in the momentous nineties, Srinivasa Addepalli lived in hostels with the four-year stint in REC (now NIT), Surat being the most memorable. At that time, he wrote Hostelitis, a column on hostel life for the youth magazine, JAM. Twenty-five years later, this book builds on those stories that were written as they happened. After graduating from IIM Ahmedabad, Srini went on to the corporate world of strategy and M&A. Later, he became a visiting faculty at various MBA and engineering colleges; perhaps with a desire to experience hostel life again. Srini lives in Mumbai and runs an ed-tech start-up in professional education and upskilling.
