He is currently practising as a General Ophthalmologist, VR Refractive Surgeon in Chennai,
He was the first person in India to perform a laser treatment on a human being across any medical specialty, way back in 1979. He was the President of the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association 2003 and the All India Ophthalmological Society in 2009.
He has received over forty orations and awards and three Lifetime Achievement Awards, including that of the All India Ophthalmological Society.
He has been a dedicated Rotarian since 1981 and is a trainer and motivational speaker.
This is his first nontechnical book.
