It has been seen that the extension scientist’s task is an educational one. Farmers and their families need to learn new skills, knowledge and practices in order to improve their farming and other productive activities. Extension scientists, however, must also be prepared to learn from farmers about the way they farm, and keep themselves up to date with relevant developments in agricultural knowledge. In this educational work of extension, the scientist should be upgraded with different types of information, communication and managerial skill in their profession.
However, few books have been conducted to address the important aspect of information, communication and managerial skill development of extension scientists. Keeping these in mind, the present book is written with the hope that it would be a valuable document for KVK Scientists, Extension workers and administrators for capacity development in their profession.

Dr. Ganesh Das is the Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Extension) of the Cooch Behar Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari, Cooch Behar, West Bengal – 736165. He was also the Farm Tele Advisor in Kisan Call Centre under Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. He has more than 9 years of extension work experience. He has authored three books and contributed chapters in 6 books. He has published more than 100 research, review and technical articles.
