Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is a historical figure. Savarkar was a nationalist, a rationalist, a humanist, a leader, and a poet who had a tremendous impact on all he touched. Even today Veer Savarkar's life still inspires many people. Throughout his life, he stood out for his dedication and devotion to duty.
He was born on 28 May 1883 and lost his mother at the age of nine in the small village of Bhagur in the Nasik district of Maharashtra. He also lost his father, Sri Damodar Pant, in 1898 when he was 15 years old.
All kinds of patriots worked together to free India from British rule. These included those who led mass movements, moderate and radical leaders, and armed revolutionaries. "Prince of Revolutionaries" was awarded to Veer Savarkar. Savarkar argued that pleas and petitions could not win freedom. Savarkar declared that he wanted complete political independence and that the only way to get there was to continue launching armed revolutions. Generations of revolutionaries, both in India and abroad, were influenced by Savarkar. He is credited with bringing the Indian opportunity to the global stage.​​​​​​​
