LET GO The Trials & Triumphs of The First Indian to finish RACE ACROSS AMERICA (RAAM)

Author Name: Srinivas Gokulnath | Format: Paperback | Genre : Sports & Games | Other Details

Let Go is the story of Srinivas Gokulnath (Srini) and his quest to become the first rider from India to ever finish the solo category of the Race Across America, a 3089 mile coast-to-coast bicycle race in the United States.

Covering his two attempts in 2016 and 2017, it reflects the trials and tribulations of his attempt to conquer the toughest bicycle race in the world. Follow him through the deserts of California, Arizona, and Utah, through the vast Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the rolling plains of Kansas, Missouri, and going east to the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland.

Feel the suffering, deprivation, loneliness, and hopelessness.  Share the tears and the victories. Witness what it’s like when everyone has given up on you and when you’re already so close to giving up on yourself.

This is a testament of strength and fortitude, not only by the rider, but by the crew that’s so vital to succeeding at this race. See what happens when you give it all you’ve got and it still isn’t good enough, the decimating failures, the off-the-cuff remarks that hurt your heart, and rising again with the determination to try again.

Follow Srini as he enters military life, rides from the northern tip to the southern tip of India on a bicycle, qualifies for RAAM, and his journey to become the first Indian rider to ever finish this grueling race. Success is in the mindset. It’s in learning to overcome mental obstacles that you may not even realize are there. It’s learning to Let Go.
