However, he managed to pursue his desire to have further studies, He joined as a Lower Division Clerk, in the Income-tax Department. He completed his graduation degree while working. His life changed thereafter. In the office he fell in love with his colleague.The differences in religion and culture, compelled them to end their relationship. But A couple of years later he married a girl from his native place, He rose to the cadre of Indian Revenue Service, in the Income-tax Department, in the course of time. In the office, he had face number of intricate and difficult situations. He retired after completion of more than 41 years of Government Service. In the meantime, he married off his two daughters. After retirement he undertook journeys to visit different tourist and religious destinations which he had missed while in service.

Thomas Paul is a retired Indian Revenue Service Officer, now settled in Baroda, and lives with his wife, who is also a retired Income-tax official. Their married children are staying away. Most of his life he lived in Gujarat, where he had his higher education and employment. He was borne in a middle class business man’s family, in Thrissur, Kerala. His main pastime is reading and loved travelling.
