Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalMusings: Annotated Selections of English Poems is based on the poems of the newly revised syllabus for undergraduate English studies (2023) at University of Calcutta. This book examines select poems from select ages - Elizabethan and Jacobean, Romantic, Modern and Postmodern. Each poem is preceded by a brief introduction about the poet, and at the end, there are introductions to the ages of literature that the poems feature. Students would find a lot of relevant matter in them. After each poem, important topics are discussed. The annotations of the book are on the pages where the lines are found, so students do not have to turn pages to find an explanatory list. The annotations aim not just to explain the lines, but also to provide critical insight into the text, and sometimes, point out other texts that can be studied for comparative purposes.
