Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalNakshatras, or “constellations” in Hindu astrology, are regions in the sky divided into 27 segments. For each Nakshatra, or lunar mansion, there is a corresponding celestial body, deity, mythological story, symbolic animal, plant and mineral – all of which contain numerology and spiritual significance.
Nakshatra plants are those plants which are recommended according to the ruling deity of a particular Nakshatra, as mentioned in Indian Vedas.
According to the Atharvaveda, the Earth is seen as a mother, with the people living on it symbolizing her sons. The Vedas have instructed us to revere trees and plants as parents, as they provide us with the life-giving prana vayu, or oxygen. Not only do they purify the environment, but they also maintain a harmonious balance between the Earth and the sky. In fact, the Vedas regard a single tree as being equivalent to ten sons. Astrological studies have demonstrated that a person can be liberated from physical, social, and economic difficulties by planting a tree or plant according to the existing constellation at the time of their birth.
Many people opt for the Nakshatravan pattern, featuring 27 Nakshatra trees, for their gardens, offices, and organizations as a cultural gesture and to add beauty to the space.
