Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalSince the nineteenth century, the concepts of nation-states and nationalism have been taking concrete shapes. To grow into a nation, particularly in Asia, there have been various experiments after the World Wars with the growing demands for self-determination against imperialism and colonialism. Hence there is a need for continuous analysis about these struggles, trials and tribulations, and consequent fault-lines towards the goals of nationalism. Such analysis is not very easy, but this book, written in a lucid style, might be of interest to students and scholars of the subject since we all care for the healthy growth of nationalism around us.
C. R. Biswas
C. R. Biswas, the author of this seventh book, started his career as an English lecturer and worked for about four decades in the Indian Administrative Service. On retirement, he has been engaged in teaching and writing on constitutional law, international affairs, and development administration. His book, ‘In Search of Brighter Sunshine’ (on the global refugee crisis) has been well-received. His writings have been published in Sahitya Academy Journal and National Book Trust also. In this present book, he has attempted in his usual vivid manner to analyze the Asian scenario of national aspirations, particularly from the Indian perspective.
