Meera Shivashankar

Meera Shivashankar has been writing novels and teaching English for the last ten years. With four published books of romance genre behind her, she believes the journey of writing is a continuous one; the process of writing and completion of one book gives birth to the next.

‘Ragamalika’, an anthology this time, with music as its theme, is her fifth book which marks a departure from her usual genre of romance. There is no one who is untouched by music and she says she is no exception. This is an attempt to combine her penchant for telling stories with her love for music, which she calls her divine purifier. Each story in this book is dedicated to one raga and all those who have been touched by music will enjoy these stories that form slices of life.

Her interests include music, theatre, doing literature-related courses and poetry. She lives in Chennai and works as an English teacher in a well-known school here. She has an excellent rapport with her students and that, she believes, is what helped her become a better learner, teacher and person.
