The authors are faculty members in the Department of Sociology at Gandhigram Rural University, Tamil Nadu.Rooppa Hari holds a PhD in Sociology, specialising in Digital Media, Economy and Society. Her current interest is centred on the social implications of the digital economy. She has published many articles, and her most recent book on Gender and Social Media is titled, 'Selves in the Cloud'. R Kumaran, is currently heading the department of Sociology at Gandigram Rural Institute - Deemed to be University.
