ANEEL KHANNA
Aneel is a graduate in economics, though he wanted to major in English literature! This has been the story of his life! He has always done what he never wanted to do. He wanted to be on stage but got married at 25 and needed to put bread on the table. So, he then thought of being an ad copywriter but eventually became a salesman.
He started door-to-door selling toothbrushes and then moved on to pushing office automation products in their early days when even manual typewriters took six months to be delivered. From then on, he was a part of many innovative products of the 80s and 90s. From telecommunications (think of the first buttoned dialups) to textiles to ultimately security services.
While spear-heading export promotion for a company, he had the opportunity of do a little bit of globetrotting which he enjoyed. He reached the pinnacle of his career as Executive Director of a private security company and was one of the key players taking the company from a turnover of Rs. 18 crores to almost Rs. 400 crores, making it the first Indian security company to become an MNC that later acquired a leading British organization.
He now operates as a Management Consultant and enjoys his road trips to distant parts of the country, free and anchorless.
