Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalAccording to a report from WHO, 1 in 4 children in the age group of 13-15 years in India suffer from depression. Another report published in 2017, says India is the most depressed country in the world. Self-harm and suicide by teenagers, which are the end state of depression, is increasing at an alarming rate. Depressive disorder can start growing at an early age of 6 years, and it becomes more serious among teenage children, many studies have revealed this.
There is a complete lack of awareness on this issue in our country, which makes the problem even more serious. Most of the early symptoms of the problem go un-noticed and un-attended, which ultimately leads the child into a state of depression. Depression and anything related with such mental health conditions is socially unacceptable in our country. This book is for every parent having teenage child/children and for the teachers who interact with these children. This book is an attempt to bring awareness by explaining various symptoms and all aspects of the problem.
