Prof. CNR Rao is a living legend. Einstein paid a compliment to Mahatma Gandhi on his 70th birthday. He said, “Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth”. On Prof. Rao’s birthday, I would repeat these words. Prof. Rao is not an individual, he is an institution, he is a phenomenon. I feel lucky that our generations could see him, touch him, feel him, experience him, learn from him and get inspired by him.
I have watched Prof. Rao as a scientist, as a science leader, as a science institution builder and indeed as a leader of leaders of science. I have also watched him as a wonderful, warm-hearted human being with abundant empathy. I have seen his childlike enthusiasm. I have watched him as `courage personified’. What follows is more anecdotal but solely based on my personal viewpoint.
Professor Rao has had a tremendous influence on my life. He has been my guru, guide, friend and philosopher.

Dr. Arvind Yadav
Over the course of his 25-year career in media, Dr. Arvind Yadav has achieved numerous milestones, surpassing the accomplishments of many individuals throughout their entire lives. His advocacy for social justice and freedom of the press is unwavering, and he furthered these causes through his involvement in social and political events. He has documented the lives of some of the most esteemed luminaries from various fields across India. Through his work, Dr. Arvind Yadav sheds light on the individuals and their stories that often go unnoticed by the mainstream media.
Dr. Yadav has authored more than 25 books. He also has innumerable articles to his name so far. In addition to earning dual Master's degrees, he holds a PhD in Modern Hindi criticism and postgraduate diplomas in Media Laws and Psychological Counselling. His educational qualifications also include a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and Hindi. He recently completed his Master of Arts in Psychology to boot.
From 1999 to 2019, Dr. Yadav has provided coverage for all the assembly and parliamentary elections across South India. His pivotal role in prominent organizations namely AajTak/Headlines Today, Channel 7/IBN 7, and the TV9 news network are noteworthy beyond measure. His significant contributions were acknowledged in the establishment of India's first end-to-end HD news channel, Sakshi TV. He also worked as Managing Editor for YourStory.
Dr. Yadav's relentless pursuits extend beyond the mainstream, encompassing social activists, politicians, entrepreneurs, artists, and sportspeople, as well as change-makers from every other field who are passionately working towards creating positive change in society.
