Gilbert Keith Chesterton (29 May 1874 – 14 June 1936) was an English writer, philosopher and theologian. His writings influenced C.S. Lewis in his journey of faith and he is considered to be among the great Christian thinkers. He also wrote non-fiction, Father Brown, a priest-detective, being one of his most well-known characters. Time magazine observed of his writing style: "Whenever possible Chesterton made his points with popular sayings, proverbs, allegories—first carefully turning them inside out."
