Attempt had been made to study the ever changing lifestyle of the people due to their conversion into Christianity form their traditional animistic belief in ancestor worship, their changing economic life with the merger of Manipur and Mizoram (Lushai Hills) with independent India etc. Sincere efforts had been made to study the political life of the people from the era of traditional chieftainship to the changed position of the chief due to the introduction of democratic political system in independent India and due to the introduction of Modern education by the Western Christian Missionaries.
Dr Th. Siamkhum hails from Mimbung, a small remote border village of Mizoram, bordering Chin Hills of Myanmar and the state of Manipur. He spent his childhood in Zawllian, Assam, before moving to Churachandpur, Manipur, along with his family.
He got his graduation in Pol.Sc (Hons) and post-graduation from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, and North-Eastern Hill University, respectively. In 1989, he was awarded a doctoral degree in Philosophy by Manipur University. He serves as an Associate Professor in Pol.Sc at Churachandpur Govt. College.
