The Three Shades of Life revolves around the lives of three women in three different eras of time period, 19 50s-60s, 70s-80s, 90s-2000.
Although the protagonists are females but the novel has nothing to do with feminism. All the characters are completely different from each other. They face different experiences from their childhood to womanhood though they are all interlinked to each other by birth. Surprisingly there is one spectator who fortunately or rather magically survived to watch all the character of three eras. Hence some of the characters has been sketched through the vivid speculation of this feline character. Some events are factual occurrence but all the incidents and characters are fictitious.

‘THE THREE SHADES OF LIFE’ is my first novel although writing has been my passion since my schooldays. I was a little introvert at that time since I went through many emotional changes both at home and at school. Since then books were my companion, be it novels or comics. I liked memorizing Tagore’s poems and reading novels by Sharat Chandra, Bibhuti Bhushan, Satyajit Ray, Sunil Gangopadhya and of course Charles Dickens. Short stories by O Henry and Oscar Wilde inspired me. I write both Bengali and English poems and lyrics and have a collection of them yet to be published, along with few travel articles and short stories. My other passion is music, western and classical as well as contemporary Bollywood music, very aptly reflected in my novel ‘THE THREE SHADES OF LIFE’.
