Zayd Iqbal Haji is a research student, author, and founder of Islamic Finance Research (IFR) and Islamic Studies Research (ISR). Born on Eid al-Fitr, February 1st, 1998, in Mumbai, India, Zayd’s arrival was marked not by a cry of confusion but by the words “Allah, Allah” — a moment his family remembers as a soul remembering its covenant.
Raised in a family grounded in trust, honesty, and Islamic values, Zayd's legacy is built upon generations of integrity — from his great-grandfather Ismail Abbas Haji to his late father, Iqbal Ahmed Haji, whose life and passing deeply shaped Zayd’s mission. After his father's death in 2020, Zayd redirected his grief into purpose — dedicating himself to uncovering the truth behind modern economic systems and reviving ethical finance.
Zayd holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBA in Banking & Finance Management. He studied Islamic Sciences under Shaykh Assim Al Hakeem at Zad Academy and continues to expand his knowledge under the mentorship of Almir Colan, Director of the Australian Centre for Islamic Finance (AusCIF). He also holds certifications in Behavioral Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Leadership.
As a student, not a scholar, Zayd merges deep research with lived experience. His books — including The Invisible Debt Trap: Volume 01 & 02, Zayd’s Rules series on mutual funds, stock investing, and value-based finance — challenge riba-driven economics and call for a return to justice-centered, Shariah-aligned financial systems.
Zayd Haji’s Mentors: Guided, Trained & Inspired
The journey of Zayd Haji is marked by the wisdom of mentors who trained and inspired him across disciplines. He drew inspiration from Ray Dalio in investing and systems thinking, Mufti Taqi Usmani in Islamic finance jurisprudence, and Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid through his projects in applied fiqh.
He was personally trained by Winston Noronha in finance and discipline, and Franklin Earnest John in leadership and social marketing. Through courses, Assim Al Hakeem shaped his clarity of creed, Dr. Zakir Naik his comparative religion and da‘wah skills, and Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Salah his Qur’anic scholarship.
Through www.zaydhaji.com and www.zaydalhaji.com, He offers Islamic finance insights, Qur’anic analysis, infographics, and personal counseling rooted in Quran & Sunnah. He believes finance without faith is slavery — & ethical wealth is worship in action.
