Professor Jasbir S. Juggi, 89, obtained his medical and doctoral (PhD) qualifications from leading Universities in India in the fifties and sixties of the last century. He started his first level of academic teaching and research career in medical physiology in India. He left India in 1968 to take up senior academic positions at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and later at the Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University, Kuwait, where he retired as Chairman and Academic Vice-Dean of the faculty in 2006. He has published extensively in medical science and attended numerous international conferences and meetings where he presented his research and gave invited lectures.

Throughout his medical career, he has never forgotten his early obsession with history and reading real-life stories and events. While in Malaysia and later in Kuwait, he studied and absorbed the culture and lifestyles of the people of these two diverse countries, separated by hundreds of miles. These experiences are elaborated in the text of the book: “Ends Apart: Malaysia and Kuwait.”

After his final retirement in 2016 from an active academic career of more than fifty years, Professor Juggi established his retirement home in Gurgaon, India, where he spends time reminiscing his past life, not always happy and sometimes full of recriminations and regrets.
