Looking through the Lens Scientific Enrichment of our children

Author Name: Dr. Martin Roy Edward | Format: Paperback | Genre : Educational & Professional | Other Details

This book “Looking through the Lens: Scientific Enrichment of our Children” mainly deals with the methods of teaching science and the problems faced therein. The greatest plight of our Science Education in the country is that since Independence we haven't been able to produce any Noble Laureates. We have highly talented youth population living in the rural India which needs to be uplifted. The author strongly emphasizes that the teaching of science should be started right from the early years in childhood. This can only be achieved by changing the methods of teaching right at the preprimary and the primary stages.  The teachers should be trained to see that the child’s curiosity, zest, vitality and interest are maintained throughout the school life.

Our examination system also needs a revamp, and this should be taken up seriously. One of the greatest setbacks of our educational system is that our children are not able to apply the acquired knowledge to an unknown situation and solve a problem they face. The author blames our examination system for it. He further speaks about the importance of teaching English language in our country.
