Ajay Nair was brought up in a middle-class South Indian family. Pressure from society and his parents to excel initially caused him to hate school and books. Upon learning the high rate of suicide among students in India, Ajay was compelled to write his first book, Memories Stain, a brief memoir intended to help Indian society understand how bad the pressure is for students.
