Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalSet in an imaginary, south Indian rural village, Monsoon Minds offers a collection of stories featuring a host of individual characters and their deepemotions.
The story, A Rural Desire, is about Sugadamma, a frail, elderly woman, whose wish was to die peacefully. The desire to die was expressed as a wish to see her photo printed under the obituary columns of the vernacular daily. In An Old Love Story, a young man reflects on his time in the city, the relationship that quelled his homesickness, and the sadness at the loss of his love. The Young Flower Vendor is a story of a friendship between a young flower vendor on the streets in a small village and a man from the city.
Through a host of unique fictional characters, Monsoon Minds offers insight into the world, culture, and lives of Indians.
