Non Constitutional Bodies of India A Critical Analysis

Author Name: Raunak Chaturvedi | Format: Paperback | Genre : Educational & Professional | Other Details

Federalism means that authorities originating in and controlled by the Constitution of India are existent in a sphere coordinate and there is a division of power between them and they are independent in their respective domains. But, the biggest question that arises is that then what about the bodies which are not originating from the Constitution? How do they exist? What is their structure? What are their powers, functions, jurisdiction and composition? How are these so-called non-constitutional or extra-constitutional bodies different from the Constitutional bodies? We shall also see what had been the significance of these non-constitutional bodies in the development of India. India being a developing nation, the various bodies have played an important role in the making of the nation. Where social evils like untouchability, trafficking, child marriage prevailed even after so many years of Independence, the various non-constitutional bodies such as the Human Rights Commissions, Central Bureau of Investigation, etc. had played and are even playing an important role in maintaining the decorum of the nation. Being a research-based book, the statements made are completely based upon my understanding of the topic. The views may vary. But, through this research, we will have an analysis of these bodies and understand their roles in our democracy. We will look into their backgrounds, compositions, functions, jurisdictions (if applicable) and significance in the development.

Justice, equality and fair play. These have been my best friends since childhood. From a pianist to a comparative mythologist; from a philosopher to a poet and an author of 5 books (including this); from a legal scholar to a spiritualist, I have done it all! I hail from a family of eminent jurists- my parents are former Consumer Judges and currently practising advocates. I hate three things- lies, cheating and injustice. I love tree things- honesty, justice and purity of heart. I worship three things- my mother, Santoshi maa and my work. Currently, I am pursuing law at undergraduate level. I had done my schooling from D.P.S. Ruby Park, Kolkata, from grade Nursery to 12th grade (Science P.C.B.). I wish to become a Judge someday.
