Mohammed Alhaider
Mohammed Alhaider obtained his BSc in electrical engineering from King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1968 and his MSc and PhD in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA, in 1972 and 1977 respectively. He joined KSU in 1977 as assistant professor and was promoted to full professor in 1988. He retired in 2004. During the course of his career, he held the positions of Deputy Dean and then Dean, College of Engineering at KSU. He published over 60 papers and participated in the translation of two books in electronics. He also translated a book on the management of electric energy business, from English to Arabic. He coauthored a book on communication (in Arabic) and authored two books, one on optical fiber communication (in Arabic) and the other on an introduction to engineering. He established and supervised a data processing center at the new KSU campus during 1985-1987.
During the course of his professional experience, Alhaider spent thirty years with the Arriyadh Development Authority as a technical consultant (from April 1980). Since 2005, he has been working as a consultant and senior academic advisor to Alfaisal University. Alhaider is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET) in the United Kingdom, a chartered engineer, a European Engineer, and an International Professional Registration Advisor for the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He is a Senior Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
