Plumbing the Heart My Coronary Bypass Story with Learnings and Tips

Author Name: Raj Nakra | Format: Paperback | Genre : Health & Fitness | Other Details

‘An extremely useful book, which will benefit a lot of patients. Advice, guidance and decision-making through each step of the author’s journey is so well outlined and explained. The book provides courage and confidence for patients to undertake heart disease procedures.’

–Padma Bhushan Dr Ashok Seth, Chairman, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute,
New Delhi

‘I am tempted to call it a ‘mini memoir’. Raj’s account is accurate without being too technical, comprehensive without being long-winded, personal, vulnerable, yet practical.

What he offers is truly extraordinary – a step-by-step, practical guide for what you need to know and do if you happen to be diagnosed with a cardiac ailment. If you have a family history of heart disease, you must read it. If you don’t, you must read it.’

–Dr Dilpreet Brar, Former Executive Director, Max Healthcare and Former
Regional Director, Fortis Healthcare

I was in great shape at 66. Then, out of the blue, came a warning from my heart.  No, not ischaemic pain or an attack – just an abnormal reading on the home treadmill. It changed my life completely.

This is my physical and emotional journey from the first alarm, to coronary bypass surgery and then recovery.  Here are the options, the dilemmas and decisions, and some practical solutions to commonly faced issues, which will be useful for anyone concerned about their heart health.

This book also offers tips for those who currently have no concerns for their heart health.
