Shiva Chandra Jha
The author, Shiva Chandra Jha got inspiration from Jayaprakash Narayan in 1942 to go the US for higher studies. He went there despite his middle class background and no financial backup. He spent 6 years in the US and came back to India in 1955. Later he was elected to 4th Lok Sabha in 1967 as a candidate of Samyukta Socialist Party (SSP). He actively participated in Sampoorna Kranti (Total Revolution) launched by JP during Emergency period (1975-77), and also got detained for 18 months under MISA. He was later elected to Rajya Sabha in 1978. He travelled across the world an MP.
