Methil Sudhakaran

Methil Sudhakaran decided to complete reading world classics very early. In the ensuing time, Victor Hugo, Tolstoy, Mark Twain, Kafka, Emily Zola and many more authors’ works were read. He also read the fiction works of Nevil Shute, and Arthur Hailey. Many known Malayalam and Tamil writers also inspire him. The author’s published articles on Mark Twain and Kafka are a source of study for literary research. These studies and literature have eventually led the author to enter the domain of field work to understand things on his own. It led him to open a Free Education Center for tribal children in a village in the Western Ghats, and spend time and resources for tribal children. The author has studied the field well before writing about it. He has heard the cries of hungry children and seen the tears of young mothers.

The novel ‘The Sandalwood Girl’ is an outcome and result of the churning that took place in his mind. In the midst of the many adversities and turmoil, the leading characters, Jyothi and Kamala show remarkable courage and conviction bringing a new dawn over the village. The author is the book, and the book is the author.

He stays in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and focuses on agriculture.
