The Third Eye is all about learning—systems, system structure, systems influencers, situations, behaviours, and organizational learning practices.
Though problem solving is the skill most in demand in the 21st century, we have to let go of the old methods of solving problems and learn the systemic approach. Unless you error-proof your systems, all other error-proofing efforts are of no use. To do this, it is necessary to understand the psychology of your systems, i.e. how systems behave under different influences and influencers. Don’t just give solutions, provide systemic solutions. Remember every non-systemic solution incurs a debt to the system’s way of solving problems and the systems know how to get us to repay it.

SHIVALINGESHWAR NAIK
Shivalingeshwar Naik, an engineer by profession, turned to psychology later. He has over 7 years of professional experience in Supplier Management and Project Management roles. However, his interest in solving problems and improving suppliers through a systemic approach drove him towards studying systems from a psychological perspective. He states, “When it comes to improvement, quality is a psychology.” He was also an entrepreneur and had initiated 3 short-lived enterprises. He, however, left the business side of things at a very early stage in order to continue with his research.
Taking the advice of his mentor seriously, he found a peculiar way of researching systems. Instead of going through a university, he delved into workplaces where he could see and study actual systems. Since he was from a supplier management background, this approach was easy and turned out to be an opportunity for his research. This peculiar way of studying systems helped him analyze systems structure more deeply. Since organizations don’t study systems as they should, he is working on generalizing his findings and systems lessons through his projects on organizational learning and systems psychology by using scientific concepts. The Third Eye is his first publication which aims to introduce his research.
