Samantha Smyth
Samantha Smyth was born in Portland, Oregon in 1965.
From a very young age, she had an extraordinary passion and talent for cooking. Her greatest teacher was her grandmother, Maria, originally from Villa Santa Maria. She was known by everyone as the "home of the cooks", in the heart of Abruzzo in Italy.
Her passion continued until she was 15 years old. Then, after a serious death in the family, Samantha moved away from the world of cooking. Her mother passed away at age 51.
Her name was Tiziana. She was diabetic and suffered from atherosclerosis at the age of 51, suffering a fatal stroke. Samantha knew that the premature death of her mother was mainly due to her improper diet and this had caused her a sort of phobia of food. Over the next three years, Samantha suffered from depression and hatred of cooking. Up until her last year of high school, when she had a breakthrough.
She attended a nutrition seminar at school organized by an association "Healthy Cooks". She was very impressed by this event because for the first time she understood the importance of nutrition to have a healthy and happy life. Moreover, she comprehended that it was possible to combine food goodness and health.
From there, Samantha decided that she would become a nutritionist, but unlike most dieticians, she would be able to propose meals that are still delicious.
She has been working as a nutritionist for 30 years now and carries on her mission, which is to help as many people as possible to avoid the health problems that bad nutrition had brought to her mother, as well as proposing to all her patients healthy and balanced but delicious meals as her grandmother Maria had taught her
