P. E. S. Kartha

Intellectual Nomadism is ingrained in P. E. S. Kartha. Though such cerebral dromomania has never brought him any glory, it enabled him to read life marginally better!

P. E. S. Kartha (full name: Pattathil Eravi Sarangadhara Kartha) was born in the year of Indian independence at Cherthala, a coastal town in Kerala, India. His formal education culminated in graduation in Electrical Engineering (NIT, Warangal) and a PhD in Physics (IISc, Bangalore). Decades of industrial experience broadened his mental horizon and polished his worldview. Moreover, the inescapable dichotomy of life, though negatively skewed in his case, has refined and enriched the content-diversity and style of his writing.

His mother was Smt. Lakshmi Kunjamma (1907-1983), and father was Shri. N. Krishna Kartha (1903-1979), who was an accomplished Sanskrit scholar by familial tradition. Both the parents had played a great role in moulding his Spiritual as well as Intellectual profiles. His insatiable reading habit began in early childhood, and still continues.

In the 2000s, he began writing essays, poems and translations in both English and Malayalam regularly. Spiritual subjects and the underlying link between Spirituality and Science are his favourites. Two areas that touch his heart are Bharatiya Samskruti and Indian Heritage.

Dr. Kartha resides in Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) with his wife and son and not to mention five feline energy packs.
